Spotless: Clean Phone & Photos (“the App”, “Spotless”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a storage cleaner and device-care app for iPhone. This privacy policy explains what data the App accesses, what we do and do not collect, and the choices you have. We built Spotless to be honest and privacy-first — so this policy is short and specific.
The App’s core cleaning features run 100% on your iPhone. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or store any of the following:
The App does not require an account, sign-in, or profile. We never ask for your name, address, or payment details.
To understand which features are used, the App uses Google Firebase Analytics. To diagnose crashes and errors, it uses Firebase Crashlytics. Together these collect a limited set of anonymous, aggregated technical data:
None of this is linked to your identity: the App has no accounts, and we never attach a name, email, or device advertising identifier to it.
| Permission | Why the App asks |
|---|---|
| Photos | To scan your library on-device for duplicates, similar shots, blurry photos, screenshots, and large videos, and to delete items you choose. |
| Contacts (optional) | Only if you use the contact deduplication tool — to find and merge duplicates on-device. |
| Calendar (optional) | Only if you use calendar cleanup — to find old past events on-device. |
| Notifications (optional) | To send optional reminders (e.g. weekly cleanup reports or charging reminders). |
Those are the only permissions the App asks for. It does not request Location, Microphone, Camera, Local Network, Health, or Tracking access.
You can review or revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. Deleting a photo, video, or file in the App moves it to your Recently Deleted album (kept by iOS for 30 days) so nothing is lost by accident.
Spotless offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive or store your card or payment information. Subscription and receipt validation is handled by Apple’s StoreKit. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
The App relies on these third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy. This list is exhaustive — nothing else receives data from the App:
We do not sell or share your personal data with any other third party.
Some versions of the App include an optional AI Insight chat that answers questions about your storage. It is off unless you open it and send a message. When you do, two things are sent to our AI provider:
Your photos, file names, file contents, contacts, calendar events, and location are never sent to the AI service. Conversations are held in memory only and are not saved by the App after you leave the screen. A proof-of-subscription token issued by Apple is sent with the request so the service can confirm you are a paying subscriber; it does not identify you.
Because the App does not upload your content, we hold none of it. Anonymous analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google’s standard retention settings and is used only in aggregate.
Spotless is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in the EU/UK or CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because the App does not collect personal data that identifies you, most requests are satisfied by the fact that your content stays on your device. You can:
Your photos, files, contacts, and calendar events never leave your device, which is the strongest protection possible. Every network request the App makes — analytics, crash reports, geocoding, the speed test, and AI Insight — uses an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Anonymous analytics may be processed on servers operated by Google outside your country. By using the App you consent to this processing as described in Google’s and Firebase’s privacy policies linked above.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective date” above. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
